The tastiest marble cake

German Marble Cake

This recipe is from Germany. It is a Ruehrkuchen, which is often used and sold in Gastronomy.  It is also very often baked and eaten in your own home. This recipe is very old and it was also baked in the early years.

Ingredients: (Servings: 14)
⦁ 1 cup of butter
⦁ 4 eggs
⦁ 1 teaspoon of almond extract
⦁ 1 tablespoon of baking powder
⦁ 1 1/2 cups of white sugar
⦁ 1 cup of milk
⦁ 3 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
⦁ 1/8 teaspoon of salt
⦁ 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
⦁ 3 tablespoons of dark rum

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour one 10 inch tube pan
2. In a large bowl, cream the butter with the sugar. Beat in the eggs, then the milk and almond extract
3. In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt. Beat the flour mixture into the creamed mixture. Turn half of the batter into another bowl and stir in the cocoa and rum
4. Layer the light and dark batters by large spoonfuls and then swirl slightly with a knife
5. Bake the cake at 350 degree F for about 70 minutes, or until it tests done with a toothpick. Transfer to a rack to cool. Makes about 14 to 16 servings

I have chosen this brecipe because the end product simply tastes good. Its fun to prepare. The taste of the marble cake can not be described. besides, I chosen the cake because it’s one of the only cakes I eat.
