The food here in Germany and all of Europe is very different than in the States. When I arrived at the airport, I instantly went to bakeries and supermarkets. The croissants were fluffy on the inside and had a flaky shell. All foods in Germany are cheap and healthier. Bread is eaten for breakfast, lunch, and dinner which I found appealing as I like to try the different kinds of bread. Water is also commonly carbonized which adds a little spice to still water and tap water is readily accessible everywhere, so I’m never dehydrated. On Saturday, my trip to köln was fun as well, I went shopping for clothes and the walk in the busy city was quite entertaining with friends at times. The school system in Germany is different than how it is in the US as the amount of classes in your day determines when you leave school. The food in the break area is freshly baked and coffee beans are also grounded there. The local food and supermarkets here are also around every corner and they are cheap as well. I recently had a döner kabab that was filling while being cheap, and superb kaiserbrötchen bread. The chocolate here has a lot more cocoa flavor, and unlike the US, chocolate does not have hydrochloric acid in the ingredients, which makes European chocolate enjoyable and better tasting. The recycling/ waste disposal process in Germany is also very different as there are four categories of waste. I have collected over 10+ bottles from friends and I’ve been using the money to buy essentially free Monster Energy bi-daily; my backpack is always filled with empty bottles. Although I have trouble with sleep and jet lag, the classes had never bored me and I understood the subjects despite the class only speaking and writing in German.
