Personal Blog- Abigale K

I think the oddest thing about being in Germany is attending the school here. I am currently sitting in the homeroom, working on my blog entries because my exchange student simply didn’t have a class for 3/4 period, their schedules are a pattern for like 2ish weeks I believe, and its a little confusing but maybe that’s only because i’m confused and they actually understand because they’ve done it all year. Another thing is students are trusted to go to the bathroom, without needing a pass, or the majority of the time, without even asking, just a small signal to the teacher and walk out of the class. If you see a teacher, or an admin, they don’t ask about ID’S (because they don’t have those either) or about your pass. They also leave the school gates open, different grades/students get out at different times so you’re free to leave and come at different classes. In the first week of school her last class go cancelled. We didn’t have to sit with a sub, we just all went home. The schools have been a big culture shock to me.
