Last week I shadowed my German exchange classes. The first class that day was Art class. The teacher explained What the German students are doing. Then gave me and few of my fellow Americans a piece of clay. I knew nothing about making stuff with clay. Luckily, I was siting next to Sam, and she knew some techniques to help me create a masterpiece. the first technique she taught me was kneading the clay to make sure there were no air bubbles. This is to make sure the clay does not explode in the kiln. Another, technique she taught me was slip and score. To slip and score you scratch the clay and then leave water on to sides of the clay you want to attach. After some time, I created the pieces I need to create my masterpiece. I put them together with the slip and score technique. Then, I finally created my masterpiece: messy Stevens. I personally don’t have art or ceramics in America but I do have carpentry so I do create but with wood and not clay.
